Irish CSO - Milk Statistics January 2013
Domestic Milk Intake Down 11.8% in January
Domestic milk intake by creameries and pasteurisers was estimated at 117.9 million litres for January 2013. This was 11.8% below the corresponding 2012 figure.
Comparing the January 2013 milk produce figures with those for January 2012 shows that:
- Total milk sold for human consumption decreased by 2.2% to 39.8 million litres.
- Butter production was down 10.0% to 3,600 tonnes.
