Domestic Milk Intake Down 2.1% in October
Domestic milk intake by creameries and pasteurisers was estimated at 369.8 million litres for October 2012. This was 2.1% below the corresponding 2011 figure.
Comparing the October 2012 milk produce figures with those for October 2011 shows that:
- Total milk sold for human consumption decreased by 1.2% to 40.6 million litres.
- Butter production was down 11.4% to 10,100 tonnes.
