US beef exports to Taiwan finish 2024 strong

The US is now Taiwan's biggest supplier of beef

After a slow start to the year, beef exports to Taiwan came on strong in the second half, according to year-end data released by USDA and compiled by the US Meat Export Federation (USMEF).

Exports reached 62,503 mt, up 4% year-over-year, and were valued at $709.2 million – up 13% and the second highest on record. 

The US is the dominant supplier of chilled beef to Taiwan, holding 71% market share.
