Uruguay's government upheld a previous decision from the country's antitrust regulator to block the purchase of three local plants belonging to Brazilian meatpacker Marfrig by its rival Minerva, Reuters reported, citing the companies on Tuesday.

Minerva said it is analysing possible legal action following the announcement by Uruguay's Finance and Economy Ministry, including resubmitting the deal to Uruguayan authorities.
