Land O’Lakes, Inc. launches agriculture scholarship program for MANRRS students
Recipients will spend a week at Land O’Lakes’ headquarters in MichiganLand O’Lakes, Inc. is launching a new scholarship program for Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Studies (MANRRS) college students, according to a company press release.
Recipients of the Rooted In Tomorrow Land O’Lakes Scholarship will spend a week at Land O’Lakes’ headquarters in Arden Hills, Minnesota, in June 2023 for an immersive, hands-on learning experience about agriculture career opportunities and professional development training. Students will also receive a $1,000 scholarship for textbooks. This opportunity is available to rising sophomore students.
During their visit to Arden Hills, students will attend professional development trainings on topics ranging from resume writing to crafting elevator speeches, meet Land O’Lakes employees, connect with MANRRS alumni, talk to college relations staff and chat with summer interns. The week will also include site visits to a member-farm, the Innovation Center in River Falls, Wisconsin, and an Answer Plot.
“This scholarship program is one of the many steps Land O’Lakes is taking to create a more inclusive and equitable agriculture industry,” said Julie Sexton, Chief Human Resources Officer at Land O’Lakes. “I’m grateful to work with MANRRS on this opportunity and hope that it will help students discover career passions. I look forward to welcoming them to Arden Hills next summer.”
