Deforestation in Brazil's Amazon rose 33.2% in July from a year earlier, Reuters reported, citing data from government space research agency Inpe on Wednesday.

Despite the increase seen in July, deforestation in the region fell 45.7% from August 2023 to July 2024, according to Inpe.
