Argentina sends first beef shipment to Mexico

By: Argentina on Tuesday shipped its first ton of beef to Mexico after over a decade of talks aimed at opening the Mexican market to the South American country's famed beef exports, Reuters reported, citing Argentina's agriculture secretariat.
Argentine meatpacker ArreBeef exported a ton of different cuts of beef, the secretariat said in a statement, adding that another 21 meat exporters were licensed to ship to the North American country.
"Today Argentina has available the markets of Canada, the United States and now Mexico, a very important bloc for the country and for our industry," said Rodolfo Acerbi, the vice president of Argentina's national food and animal health inspection service (Senasa).
Mexican authorities authorized Argentine beef imports in November 2022, culminating over ten years of negotiations, the statement added.
