Tara, owned by the Central Bottling Company (Coca Cola Israel) and managed by CEO Tal Raban, announced price hikes of 1.5 per cent to 3.4 per cent on some of its non-controlled dairy products.

Tnuva announced price increases of similar magnitude earlier this week.

According to Globe, Tara said that the price rise followed an increase of over 10 per cent since January 2017 in the price of raw milk, which accounts for a substantial proportion of production costs for dairy products.

Examples of Tara's price hikes are puddings (2.4 per cent), yellow cheese (3.4 per cent), cream cheese (1.5 per cent), and fruit yoghurt (2.2 per cent).

The price increases will go into effect in the coming days.
