China's Farm Produce Prices Continue to Climb
CHINA - China's farm produce prices continued to climb in the week ending 3 June due to recovering pork prices, according to data from the Ministry of Commerce.

The price index for farm produce edged up 0.5 per cent in the past week, compared with a 0.3-per cent rise in the previous week. The index for production materials went up 0.4 per cent.
The average wholesale price of 30 kinds of vegetables gained 0.3 per cent from a week earlier.
The wholesale price of pork, the country's staple meat, went up 2.8 per cent from a week earlier. The price of beef edged down 0.2 per cent while that of lamb fell 0.3 per cent.
The wholesale price of eggs went up 0.9 per cent.
Food accounts for about one-third of China's consumer price index (CPI).
China's CPI rose 1.8 per cent year on year in April, compared with 2.1 per cent for March, as abundant food supplies kept inflation mild.
