According to BelTAMr Zayats said, "There is a great interest on the part of Viet Nam and also Belarus in advancing Belarusian dairy products to the Vietnamese market and in setting up joint ventures in Viet Nam to manufacture dairy products from the milk powder made in Belarus using the Belarusian technologies."

The new plant will make 100 tonnes of finished products per day. The construction project has been prepared. The company is expected to come online in 2018.

"Viet Nam is very interested in such an enterprise, which will be set up with the participation of Belarus that will hold 30 per cent in the authorised capital.

"We have already signed a letter of intent and a roadmap to implement this project," the minister informed.

Cooperation between the two countries in the food sector has been developing very rapidly.

In 2016 Belarus exported products worth more than $900,000 (an increase of 2.9 times over 2015).

In January-April 2017 the export amounted to more than $566,000, a growth 80.3 per cent as against the same period a year earlier.
