The move should help Spain negotiate animal health agreements with other countries to export cattle and cattle products.

The recognition was given at the 84th General Session of the World Assembly of Delegates of the OIE, after Spain fulfilled the conditions set out in the International Animal Health Code for Terrestrial Animals.
