ANALYSIS - In the third and final part of this video series, vet Roger Blowey discusses the important actions to take when cattle are showing early signs of hoof problems.Whilst prevention is better than cure, Mr Blowey says that early identification of lame animals and quick implementation of effective treatment are the most important steps if prevention is no longer possible.
He shows a variety of different blocks, which can be applied to the sound claw to take the pressure off the affected claw, and discusses the advantages of each type.
Roger Blowey is the author of the book 'Cattle Lameness and Hoofcare'.
