The Colombian Livestock Federation (FEDEGAN) acknowledged lower milk yields, dismissing both farmers claiming a shortage and processors describing a seven per cent output lift.

This means calls to import more milk should be ignored, explained a FEDEGAN spokesperson.

Processor organisations the Colombian Association of Dairy Processors (ASOLECHE) and the Colombian Federation of Dairy Cooperatives (FEDECOLECHE) last week told the media that milk output had lifted seven per cent.
