Daily Dairy Trading: Small Movements in Spot Market and Futures, Wednesday
US – Dairy futures closed mixed on Wednesday and there was little activity in the spot market, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange reported yesterday.The only spot price mover was Cheddar Blocks which closed half a cent higher at $2.3250, leaving the price 2.5 cents above Monday’s close of $2.3250.
Spot price Non-fat Dry Milk closed unchanged on $2.0400, despite registering two trades.
Butter has sold the most of the spot commodities. Six trades have been reported in total at $1.8850.
March futures closed mostly higher, the exception being Butter which slipped to $1.8298. Butter futures closed unchanged from July up to and including November.
April Butter slipped to $186.00, the contracts highest figures.
Class III edged a cent higher to $22.91, Class IV held on $23.40. Whey powder closed up to $0.6415.
Cheese settled mostly lower across the year but recorded minor gains in the front months. April lifted to $2.235 and April lifted to $2.087.
