Colombia Seeks Dairy Cooperation With Europe
COLOMBIA – A request has been sent by the Colombian ministry of agriculture to the European Commission to establish production patterns that will facilitate dairy trading.General Secretary for the Ministry of Agriculture, Laura Valdivieso Jiminez said that help was required because of the sensitivity of the dairy agreement.
Mrs Jiminez said the agreement, almost a year old, needs to be generating more value and this can be achieved through growing the industry to compete globally.
She wants export products diversified and production patterns established. She emphasised the need for trade quotas and revised trade flows between each country.
Trade talks are scheduled with Peru and the European Union.
