Leading Dairy Cooperative Ships Cheese to Korea
CHILE – A dairy plant in the Los Rios region has commenced a cheese production programme to supply the South Korean market.The agricultural and cooperative dairy limited’s (COLUN) Columela plant, near the town of La Union was listed in the Ministry of Agriculture’s 'exporting local livestock products' register on 13 September.
Three shipments have reached Korea following the national director for the Agriculture and Livestock Service Anibal Ariztia’s, authorisation, which allowed the plant to export whey, cheese and liquid products.
Further investment, amounting to 60 million pesos, is expected to grow the plant further, to an overall annual production capacity of 120 million litres.
