Daily Dairy Trading: Stagnant Spot Market as Class III Gains 13 Cents

US – Class III December milk closed thirteen cents higher, while much of spot market went unchanged on Monday.

Bidding pushed Class III milk up to $18.59, after peaking at $19.35. Class IV stayed finished the day on $21.24.

Class IV hit a low of $20.49 and an upper limit of $20.99, coincidentally the price for January.

Spot market trading was limited. Aside from Butter, only one bid was reported on Cheddar blocks for the unchanged price of $1.8800, says the Agricultural Marketing Service at the US Department of Agriculture.

Seven trades were registered for Butter, causing Butter to drop one cent to $1.6400.

Other futures finishes were Cheese at $1.8270, Whey at $0.5875 and Nonfat Dry Milk at $1.9350.

December Butter closed on $1.5700.
