Daily Dairy Trading: Blocks Topple But Stay Ahead of Barrels, Friday
US – The spot markets finished the week with losses across Cheddar, resulting in a four cent margin with Blocks on top after losing eight cents.Losses to Blocks came after four straight days on a stable price $1.9025, reports the US Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Marketing Service.
This dropped the price to $1.8225 as Barrels moved 1.25 cents lower to $1.7825, 8.75 cents lower than Monday’s close.
Butter and Nonfat Dry Milk closed Friday unchanged. Butter reported gains for the week, closing up on Monday’s finish to $1.5600.
Futures saw November Class III milk fluctuate, closing down four cents at $18.78, as Class IV stayed rooted to $20.49.
Butter went unchanged on $1.5400 all week. Whey lifted 0.73 cents closing at $0.5723.
