Brazilian Steer Prices Improving
BRAZIL - Brazilian steer prices improved during August, averaging R$3.38/kg lwt (approximatelly A$1.60/kg lwt) in Sao Paulo state, up 12 per cent year-on-year in Real (Brazilian currency) terms (Cepea/ESALQ).The tight supply of slaughter ready cattle buoyed prices in almost all markets across the country.
Average vealer prices (Nelore – eight to twelve months) in Mato Grosso do Sul state were also higher during August, at R$4.21/kg lwt (approximately A$2.00/kg lwt), up 12.3 per cent year-on-year.
