Daily Dairy Trading: Bids Change Spot Market, Thursday

US – Light bidding across several commodities saw spot prices move on Thursday.

Cheddar values narrowed with the gap closing from two to one cent. Blocks dropped to $1.6475, 2.25 cents lower, whereas Barrels lost 1.25 cents, closing at $1.6375.

A Non-dry fat milk Extra Grade changed up 3 cents to $1.7800.

Butter saw one bid and lifted 0.75 cents to $1.3700.

Futures trading saw Class III August milk dip further below the $18 mark after closing down five cents to $17.91.

Class IV remained unchanged on its long term position of $19.15.

Cheese edged lower to $1.7710, as did Whey to close on $0.5753.

Non-fat dry milk was a non-mover on $1.7700.

August Butter continued trading around the $1.42 mark, closing down to $1.4278.
