Butter and Skimmed Milk Powder contracts are seeing high trading values in a healthy demand market. This, the German Farmers Association (DBV) has stated, will improve farmer prices around the world - including Germany.

This point was put bluntly to Association members at a Bureau meeting in Berlin by DBV Milk President, Udo Folgart.

Positive price outlooks have affected the Association’s barometer, which now sees positive prices.

Also mentioned by Mr Folgart was the relevance of government policy in providing industry stability. This was brought up in relation to current CAP talks.
