MLA: Daily Cattle Market Summary
AUSTRALIA - At the conclusion of Thursdays markets the Eastern Young Cattle Indicator (EYCI) was unchanged on 311.75¢/kg cwt with trade steers unchanged at 171¢/kg and stocker steers up a cent at 168¢/kg, report market analysts at Meat and Livestock Australia.

Roma
Numbers at Roma prime lifted slightly with the usual buyers present and operating across all grades. The C4 bullocks slipped 7¢ on average making 174¢, while heavy C4 heifers topped at 159¢ to make 155¢/kg. Medium D2 cows generally sold from 112¢ to 126¢ while the better quality heavy cows sold slightly cheaper making 145¢/kg.
Dubbo
Throughput at Dubbo lifted 19 per cent with quality improving slightly. Medium C2 vealer steers to restock averaged 3¢ cheaper on 174¢, while the heifer portion generally sold from 133¢ to 149¢/kg.
Light yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged 145¢, while medium weight lines to feeder orders sold 9¢ dearer on 153¢/kg. Medium yearling heifers to feed ranged from 135¢ to 159¢, while medium C2 grown steers to slaughter averaged 138¢ back 9¢/kg on last week.
Light C3 grown heifers to process finished on 149¢/kg. Medium D2 cows topped at 118¢, to average 111¢/kg.
Bairnsdale
Consignments at Bairnsdale were steady with the usual buyers competing in a cheaper market. Heavy C3 yearling steers were 5¢cheaper on 172¢, while heavy grown steers sold from 155¢ to 168¢/kg.
The D3 bullock lines averaged 153¢, back 5¢/kg. Medium D1 cows settled on 96¢, back 7¢, while heavy D4 lines to slaughter sold cheaper averaging 118¢/kg.
Trade steers were steady on 171¢, while feeder steers lifted 1¢ to make 168¢/kg. Medium steers averaged 163¢, while heavy steers were firm on 164¢/kg. Medium cows settled on 123¢/kg.
