Indonesian Export Permits Used up for 2012
AUSTRALIA - The last cattle ship for the year to Indonesia has left the port of Darwin with about 2,900 head on board, according to ABC Rural.

Indonesia issued 283,000 import permits this year, which have now been used up.
Gemma Lomax, from exporter company Wellard, helped to load the last shipment on the Devon Express yesterday and says it caps off a challenging year, reports ABC Rural ABC Rural.
"This year has certainly had some ups and downs, but there's been vast improvements in the slaughtering practices in Indonesia and other South East Asian markets," she said.
"So it's been a good one (year), it's just a shame we haven't done the same numbers as we have done in the past."
There are still some cattle shipments scheduled to other export markets this year, including one to the Philippines in a couple of weeks.
The Northern Territory Livestock Exporters Association (NTLEA) said yesterday that it's been given confirmation from the Indonesian Government that there will be 267,000 import permits issued for Australian cattle next year.
