More than 70,000 visitors attended the Eurotier livestock exhibition, in Hanover, which showcased feed, veterinary products and equipment.

EBLEX, in conjunction with UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), presented Hereford, Longhorn and Highland cattle, as well as Texel, Suffolk and Border Leicester sheep. Thirteen companies and breeders, and the Limousin Cattle Society, were also represented.

Jean-Pierre Garnier, export manager for EBLEX, said: “Eurotier is the main show in the livestock world and interest from foreign breeders and importers was high, particularly those from Russia.

“Given our large livestock sector, genetic resources, technical and export capability, we needed to present a strong image of our industry and Eurotier provided the ideal platform to do so. In particular, we certainly have a role to play in supplying the world with beef and sheep genetics as we have done in the past.”
