NSW Initiate Plans for Cattle Grazing Trial
AUSTRALIA - The NSW Government has announced plans for a scientific cattle grazing trial in national parks in the state's south-west, beginning next year.
The trial comes after the Federal Government used powers to end a similar trial conducted by the Victorian Government in the Alpine National Park earlier this year, reports ABC Rural.
NSW Environment Minister Robyn Parker says she doesn't expect any interference from the Federal Government with this grazing study as it is not taking place on sensitive, high alpine areas.
"It's on areas that were grazed when they were part of forests and continue to be grazed in the transfer into making those reserves," said Mrs Parker.
"The Federal Government intervention that has occurred in Victoria has no relevance in this case."
