Government Invests in Profit Sharing Scheme
MALAYSIA - By January, the Melaka Government will allocate RM1 million to re-start cattle farming in the state, through a profit-sharing system.

Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam said the move was taken following the failure of cattle farming through feedlot system in Pulau Besar, Semujuk and Alor Gajah, which was carried out to replace cattle farming through profit-sharing in the state, reports the Malaysian National News Agency.
He said the implementation of cattle farming next year, through profit-sharing, was aimed at overcoming the shortage of cattle in Melaka, to reduce current imports from Thailand.
"Through the programme, the government will buy the cattle and hand them over to the breeders, especially in villages where grass was available for grazing," he added.
