UAE Sets Rules on Poultry and Meat Imports

UAE - The Ministry of Environment and Water has issued an ordinance setting forth the conditions for the import of thermally treated red meat and poultry.

According to Khaleej Times, ordinance No. 12 of 2012, issued by Minister Dr Rashid Ahmad bin Fahad, will be applicable to import of processed meat from the countries which have reported cases of foot and mouth disease and Rift Valley fever.

It will now be mandatory for an exporter to submit the necessary health certificates issued by the concerned authority in the exporting country.
