Britain’s Dairy Industry Continues To Deliver
UK - Britain’s dairy industry is going that extra mile to make sure that there continues to be plenty of fresh milk in shops and supermarkets and on the nation’s doorsteps, despite the freezing weather.“The conditions are undoubtedly tough out there but this brings out the very best in the dairy industry,” said Jim Begg, Dairy UK Director General.
"Thanks to the dedication of our dairy farmers and tanker drivers, cows continue to be milked and 35 million litres of milk is being collected off farms every day and taken to dairies.
"From there we are making regular deliveries to ensure that the shelves in Britain’s 93,000 grocery outlets remain well stocked with fresh milk and, as ever, our milkmen are battling through difficult conditions to make sure that every one of our 2.5 million doorstep customers receives their daily pinta.”
