Ukrainian Milkiland Plans To Move To Russia

UKRAINE - One of the largest cheese producers in Ukraine, Milkiland company stated its intention to purchase or construct a cheese producing enterprise in the Russian central region.

The company plans to purchase a plant of 15-20,000 tons of products annual at EUR 40-60 million. The IPO project says that was published at the Warsaw Stock Exchange. IPO is planned for the end of November with the aim to earn EUR 72 million from sale of 22 per cent of stock.

Milkiland plans that a transaction will be carried out till the end of 2011, main owner of the company Anatoliy Yurkevych specified. According to him, now raw milk in Russia is 15-20% up in price against Ukraine, therefore cheese will be produced at the new enterprise in a new price segment "average plus." Milkiland will continue to import cheese in the category "average" and "average minus" from its enterprises in Ukraine.

Milkiland has already possessed one enterprise to produce whole-milk products in Russia, Ostankino Dairy Plant.
