Italian Beef Demand Down
ITALY - Italian beef and veal consumer demand has been weaker so far in 2010, mainly as a result of the lower purchasing power of Italian families due to the tough financial conditions in the region, and shifting demand towards cheaper protein sources.Despite a two per cent rise in Italian beef production during the calendar year to May, Italian traders have increased imports from the north and eastern European regions where beef is cheaper, reports Meat and Livestock Australia.
