The application targets removing several parts of Luzon from the list of areas with FMD.

"We will re-file our request in November...We are applying for FMD-free with vaccination in Regions III (Central Luzon), IV-A (Calabarzon), and in Pangasinan," Divinio P. Catbagan, director of the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), told reporters.

Meanwhile, the country is vying for an FMD-free without vaccination status in Regions I (ILocos Region), the Cordillera Administrative Region, II (Cagayan Valley), IV-B (Mimaropa) and V (Bicol Region).
