Entebbe Butcheries Close After FMD Outbreak

29 September 2008

ENTEBBE, UGANDA - Over 75 butchers and abattoirs in Entebbe have been closed following a quarantine put on all animals leaving and coming to Entebbe over threats of the foot and mouth cattle disease.

The closure follows a directive from the government, instituting a ban on meat in Entebbe after detection of the foot and mouth disease in the area.
