Speaking at the farm improvement company’s annual meeting today, Mark Dewdney said farms are set to become larger, technology will increase and staffing will become a major issue.

He also said there will be a greater variety of farming systems, predicting that the number of farmers will "diminish dramatically" and "compliance demands will increase."

Mark Dewdney said LIC will continue to support farmers and evolve to meet their changing needs.

"LIC has an amazing infrastructure across the country which means we’re in daily contact with farmers, able to appreciate and understand the challenges they have on a daily basis.

"Our ability to translate those insights into advanced and innovative products and solutions has always been at the heart of this business and we are now extending our expertise to a wider range of farmers – dairy, deer and beef."
