EU Milk Producers benefit from Improved Market

IRELAND - Speaking on Wednesday 17th January, from Brussels where he was meeting with fellow EU farmer representatives in COPA, IFA national Dairy Chairman Richard Kennedy said French, German and Finnish producers have in recent months benefited from milk price increases for the first time in 5 years.

“French, German and Finnish producers are benefiting from the significant improvements in market returns which we in IFA have been highlighting in the last 6 months”, Richard Kennedy said.

“Irish Co-ops must recognize that the improvement in markets will have to be reflected in higher milk prices in 2007” he concluded.
