Russia to continue import EU meat in 2007
RUSSIA - Russia will continue to import EU meat and poultry next year.“The European Union and Russia will soon sign a memorandum, which will provide for further deliveries of EU cattle products from farms attested by Russian experts after the Romanian and Bulgarian accession to the organization on January 1, 2007,” Gordeyev said.
“The European Union and Russia have high veterinarian standards, so we agreed that the banned meat from Bulgaria and Romania will not be supplied to the Russian market through other EU member countries,” he said.
