Zimbabwe to export beef to Hong Kong
ZIMBABWE - Zimbabwe expects to export at least 5,000 tonnes of beef to Hong Kong from early 2007 (Zimbabwe’s The Herald, 11 December). The deal follows intense negotiations between Hong Kong, Zimbabwe's Department of Veterinary Services and the Cold Storage Company.Zimbabwe has also experienced a massive decline in its key agricultural sector following the launch of a land reform program, which resulted in the country’s cattle herd declining by about 70% (from 1.6 million in 2000).
