The leading price was paid for Fieldson Alfy from J.W. Fieldson, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. This March 2005 born bull was sired by Gunnerfleet Plunas, a Tunnelby Monkeytricks son that the Fieldsons purchased from Carlisle in 2000 for 7,000gns.

Out of Eden Natasha, Alfy features the prolific Broadmeadows Cannon on both sides of his pedigree. The bull also won the overall supreme championship and was bought by David Kelly, for the Netherhall herd, Kirkby Lonsdale, Lancashire.

The day’s second top price was made by Bailea Amazon, from the show judge, Brian Jones, Sennybridge, Brecon. The first son of French bull Salomon to be sold, he went to B.K Ryder, Annan Water, Moffat for 13,000gns. Three bulls made 12,000gns. The first was Windsole Appollo from William Lawson, Auchterarder, Perthshire. Sired by the French-bred Oxygene and out of Windsole Rosemary, he was purchased by David Baillie of the Calla herd, Carnwath, Lanark .
