Arthur Reeves, Dairy Crest’s milk purchasing director, said the strengthening of some commodity prices had allowed the price increase.

“Dairy Crest led the way earlier this year when we set a floor under milk prices for the second half of 2006 and we believe this helped to stabilize milk prices,” he said.
