Cattle Brucellosis compensation confirmed

UK - Maximum compensation for farmers with an animal slaughtered because of Brucellosis will be £627 during October, the Wales National Assembly Government has announced.

Compensation payable for cattle slaughtered because they have been in contact with affected animals or reactors but do not test positive themselves will be an amount equal to their market value.

Where affected animals, or direct contacts, have to be slaughtered the owners may elect to have their animals slaughtered privately or opt to allow the Assembly Government to arrange for slaughter, with payment of compensation.
