Vineyards provide cattle feed relief
AUSTRALIA - Southern inland graziers battling drought are turning to vineyards in an attempt to find cheaper feed for their cattle.

The price of the common supplement cotton seed has doubled in the past five months to $400 a tonne, so Mr Prewett is now buying the left overs from vineyards in New South Wales.
"If that can be turned into a stock feed then all the merrier," he said.
Mr Prewett was the first in the area to use the product and he says the cattle have responded well.
"They love it, it's fermented grapes," he said.
He says it has low nutritional value, but it's cheaper and with the State Government freight subsidy it is relieving a dire situation.
