CME update - cattle contracts mixed

Chicago Mercantile Exchange shows live cattle futures as lower while feeder cattle contracts edged higher.

According to reporting from Reuters, the trends for feeder cattle are part of a six-day trend of gains. 

Benchmark CME April live cattle futures settled down 1.65 cents at 119.15 cents per pound. CME March feeder cattle futures ended up 0.025 cent at 140.8 cents per pound.

Traders were waiting for the USDA's monthly cattle on feed report on Friday. Analysts estimated that the amount of cattle in US feedlots as of 1 Feb was 102.4 percent of the February 2019 total.
