FrieslandCampina Drops April Milk Price
EUROPE - European dairy co-operative FrieslandCampina has lowered its guaranteed price for raw milk for April 2016 to 27.50 euro per 100 kilogrammes of milk, a reduction of 1 euro compared with March.

The decrease in the guaranteed price is the result of a negative correction of 0.22 euro to compensate for the February forecast of milk prices of reference companies, which were estimated too high, and the expectation that the milk prices of the reference companies will continue to drop in April.
This is due to the low level of cheese prices combined with sluggish demand and an increasing supply of milk, the company said.
The protein price in April 2016 is 448.91 euros, the fat price is 224.45 euros and the lactose price is 44.89 euros per 100 kilogrammes.
The guaranteed price applies to 100 kilogrammes of milk with a protein content of 3.47 per cent, a fat content of 4.41 per cent and a lactose content of 4.51 per cent and is exclusive of VAT.
