Daily Dairy Trading: Futures Close Lower, Tuesday
US – Milk futures slipped back on Tuesday as the Spot market was static, reports the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.All 2014 Class III milk contracts posted losses. March finished 17 cents lower at $23.32/cwt and April slipped 10 cents to $23.02.
Class IV milk closed unchanged to July, which finished trading 10 cents lower at $20.90.
The March contract closed on $23.55.
Cheese also closed lower with March finishing on $2.279 and April at $2.239.
March and April Butter futures both closed higher as Butter presented a more mixed picture.
March milk powder held at $208.575 while all others up to the latest November contract slipped.
Spot floor traders were limited to two bids for Butter at $1.9000. This still higher than last week’s average.
