US Government Grants Beef Consultation Extension to Brazil
BRAZIL – Beef processors have been granted a 60 day extension for comment submissions on the draft rule for raw bovine meat export by the US Department of Agriculture.

This gives companies in the 14 approved Brazilian states a total consultation period of 120 days to end on 22 April.
The extension was requested by the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.
It is hoped the extension quells public and government fears over South American meat entering the US.
