Cattlemen Voice Farm Bill Opposition
US – The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association has announced its opposition to the Agricultural Act of 2014 as it does not address ‘priority issues’.

These words were from NCBA president Scott George, who said that, after three years, the bill has altered and is now costing ranchers money every day.
Citing Country of Origin Labelling laws as an example, he said the farm bill was ‘foundationally flawed’ and could harm rural America.
He called on Congress to ring the changes, bringing about the necessary amendments the bill needs.
“We are calling on Congress to fix the mistakes they have made, mistakes that are costing cattlemen and women money every day,” said Mr George. “Mistakes like Mandatory Country-of-Origin Labeling, which has already resulted in steep discounts to our producers and caused prejudice against our largest trading partners.”
Mr George concluded: “This program was created without the consent of producers and has been a failure by every measure.”
