Daily Dairy Trading: Butter Leads Spot Trades as Class IV Drops
US – Spot bidders reported five trades for Butter yesterday which, along with a five cent drop in November Class IV milk, constituted the main changes.Butter sold unchanged on $1.6500 amid static spot prices. Two bids were made for Cheddar Blocks for Monday’s $1.8200 value, reports the Agricultural Marketing Service at the US Department of Agriculture.
November Class III closed down from $20.65 to end the day on $20.60.
Bidders showed little interest in Extra Grade Nonfat Dry Milk after its major gains yesterday, only registering one offer.
Futures saw limited change, aside from Class IV losses. Class III closed a cent lower to $18.81.
November Cheese, Nonfat Dry Milk and Butter all finished unchanged on $1.8600, $1.8873 and $1.5300 respectively.
Whey closed slightly lower, finishing the day on $0.5703.
