August Sees Chinese Red Meat Soar

CHINA – Sheep and beef prices are at an all-time high, says the Ministry of Agriculture.

Wholesale prices lifted in August to meet their February record of RMB51.58/kg (A$9.40) as sheep meat rocketed to A$9.80 last month.

Chicken prices have enjoyed the same fortunes, dipping one per cent on July.

Pork has been reported as steadier, although values rose six per cent.
