Authorities Continue to Strive Against Dangerous Diseases

RUSSIA – Damaging diseases such as Anthrax are being successfully monitored and managed by Regional Veterinary Authorities, the government has announced.

Throughout the first quarter of 2013, several contagious diseases have been successfully kept under wraps including Rabies, Anthrax and African Swine Fever.

African Swine Fever has been spreading in the southern regions with reports of spread also coming from central and north west areas.

In response to these notifications the veterinary services have been monitoring pig health on farms most at risk.

Special attention has also been given to anthrax. Education and vaccination have been the tools against the highly contagious disease.

Anthrax vaccines have been routinely administered.
