Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Development have said that EPZs will add value to exportable products such as ‘special beef cuts’.

According to government proposals, new Brazilian market laws will dictate that some regions must export 80 per cent of products to foreign markets.

This, the government has said, will boost beef meat production and attract foreign investment, creating jobs.

In all there are 24 lesser developed zones designated to receive special export processing treatment.

The five states of Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Acre, Piauí and Ceará are included in this category despite government officials acknowledging their rapid progression in recent years.
