Subsidy Boost for Starter Farmers
RUSSIA – Newcomers to farming in the Ryazan region have the opportunity to apply for one off development grants worth 250,000 rubles for their businesses.
Under a co-financed subsidy scheme "Support for beginner farmers in the Ryazan Region for 2012-2014" federal and regional funds will be combined to create a funding budget of 115.4 million rubles.
To receive a grant, farmers need to invest 10 per cent of previously acquired funds into the development of the agricultural economy.
In 2012 19 farmers from 14 municipalities took part in a similar scheme, of which half were under the age of 35.
